Authentic Music follow up their recent Gates of Dawn compilation with an EP of feverishly fresh selections for you tympanic membranes. A-Cray returns with a different sounding slice of commanding Drum & Bass. With recent support from the likes of Critical Records’ Mefjus, you know this unique, percussive-laden treat is must listen. The circa 170 vibe is bolstered by Epidemic’s remix of Dreadmaul’s ‘Mill City’, featuring the vocal flair of MC Kryptomedic, who has appeared on the labels such as IM:Ltd, Eatbrain, and Authentic previously.
This release also marks Authentic’s first foray into Dubstep. Architech presents the less abrasive, more subtle side of the genre with ‘Exiled’, a crisp aural blend of a restrained, tempering bass line and creeping pads. Hemoglobin’s ‘Off The Planet’ proves to be more aggressive approach, as the snapping snare attempts to tame the gurgling bass. However you look at it, these slower selections are sure to throw you into the deep. Once again, Authentic Music supply an exciting amalgamation of styles and sounds to pleasure the aural palate and present you with another essential release.
